High Roller Nickname
Casinos have a nickname for high rollers that lose
a lot of money. They are called whales. Those whales
have a great deal of money and can afford to lose millions
at the casino without it affecting their lifestyles.
These high rollers are given virtually everything they
could possibly want so they will stay at the casino.
It’s a big business to keep those high rollers
at a casino.
Most casinos have special areas set aside to accommodate
the high roller. Many are called Gold Clubs or Platinum
Clubs or some other fancy name that applies to a high
roller.
What type of games do you normally see the high rollers
play? Many of the Asians are very adept at baccarat.
You will see some of the bigger whales just playing
at those tables. Of course you will see other multi-millionaires
playing at high limit black jack tables and others will
dominate a craps table.
More people now think they are important enough to
be a high roller. The average person has a few hundred
in his pocket and thinks he should be treated like a
king. You might think many people you see in the casinos
are high rollers but in reality, they just think they
are. Casinos want you to play whether you are a high
roller or not and oftentimes they will give you high
roller perks if you simply ask for them.
